About Us

The Scratch Built Book Series has been created to support the growing hobby of model making. It brings together creators of every skill level to showcase their work across multiple volumes, and to share guidance through dedicated resource manuals — because everyone has something to contribute to the hobby.

The project has grown well beyond its first idea. We're now planning over 18 themed titles and 8 resource books, confident that the strength of the community will turn this into a genuinely valuable library for hobbyists around the world.

Who is Gaven Ferguson?

Gaven Ferguson is the author behind the series and an entrepreneur who mentors others in business development. His real passion, though, is trying new things and having fun with them — he took up scratch building in 2020. Far from calling himself an expert, he believes in sharing information and helping others to grow and learn. After being asked, again and again, for a hobby book, he pulled together a team and launched this series.
